There's an interesting post at this blog (mostly about Garcia solo shows) which uncovers much of the 8-17-70 setlist through some detective work - the show happened to be covered by two different journalists:

Though some songs are clearly missing, this is what we can reconstruct:

ACOUSTIC
Truckin'
Cumberland Blues
New Speedway Boogie
Dire Wolf
Candyman
Swing Low Sweet Chariot

[Let Me In
Attics of My Life
Friend of the Devil ] (Our "8/17/70" fragment may be from an east-coast show. It's highly suspicious that a taper who could capture the entire next two nights would only get ten minutes of this show...though possibly he was caught? 1970 is full of fragments like this.)

ELECTRIC
Dancing in the Streets
Mama Tried
It's a Man's World
Not Fade Away
Uncle John's Band
Casey Jones
Lovelight

Interesting. I was just writing up a post on the early days of Truckin'. That would make 8/17 the first live Truckin', supplanting the next night, 8/18, in which they did indeed open with an acoustic Truckin' that was up 'til now considered the first.

The first electric Truckin' on LMA is from 10/4/70. Although I wouldn't necessarily put it past them to have played an electric version on 8/17.

On the other hand, perhaps the writer is remembering the Truckin from 8/18. Many of those other songs -- Cumberland, NSWB, Swing Low -- were played on the 19th as well.
